Like the anonymity offered by the city there is sanctuary in wilderness. Wilderness; a momentary peace, a haven from things left behind; the excitement of a new frontier and the possibilities of the unknown. One of our most human instincts is to explore; Earth, Space, the Moon. The Wilderness work is inspired by memories of open spaces, Dartmoor in the UK, the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland, desert sands, oceans of the South Pacific and flying across Nevada at sunset. Perhaps one of the real ‘wildernesses’, though, is ‘the zeitgeist of now’; the metaverse, places beyond the physical.
